Asif said further stated banishing of backwardness and elimination of poverty are top on agenda of the government and many steps had already been taken in this direction. Under the programme, 1800 KM long roads had been constructed in Balochistan for improving and linking downtrodden areas with the developed parts of the province.
The mega project of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will play an instrumental role in bringing revolutionary change and usher economic stability and prosperity not only in Pakistan but also in the whole region, he said. The minister was confident that Gwadar port will be a bustiest port and play a dominating role in ensuring drastic economic stability and overall development of the country as well as in the region.
Gwadar port and CPEC projects will open new vista of prosperity and development and enlarge the scope of employment opportunities for the people of the country he said. Asif said the economic stability had become more vital at this juncture for making the country economically stable, bringing prosperity and to boost development process in the country.
The Foreign Minister further stated that Pakistan was making hectic efforts to maintain peace in the region but our neighbouring country creating obstacles in the peace process and indulged in patronizing terrorists. The minister said that India is in fever of war phobia and continuously violating on LOC and Working Boundary and killing the innocent civilians, adding that Pakistan had rendered great scarifies in war against terrorism and efforts are still underway to purge the country from this menace.
The minister make it clear that any attempt to impose war or misadventure by India will be crushed with iron hand adding that the world should acknowledge and recognize the scarifies of Pakistan rendered in war against terrorism. On this occasion, the Foreign Minister said that elections of Senate and general elections would be held on time and urged the voters that they should use their right during the general elections for bringing revolutionary change in the country through vote. It's our national duty that we should use our right of vote to elect the representatives and voters should assess the performance of the government while costing their vote, he said.
Asif said that due to the effective polices of the PML-N government 10,700 MW electricity had been added into national grid as a result of the hectic efforts. There is no loadshedding in the country, he added. Vice Chancellor of the University Dr Farhat Saleemi, Deputy Commissioner Sialkot also spoke on the occasion. Later, Foreign Minister Kh Asif, Provincial Minister for Local Government Mansha ullah Butt and Deputy Commissioner Sialkot distributed the laptops among the students.
